Business Linked Teams (BLT) takes the privacy of your information very seriously and this policy explains how we collect, store, use and dispose of your information, the conditions under which we disclose it and how we keep it secure.

Who are Business Linked Teams

Business Linked Teams is a training company specialising in people development within large multi-national organisations. Our company registration number is 5667847. Our registered address is 28 Alexandra Terrace, Exmouth, Devon, EX8 1BD. We work with some third-party agencies to deliver our full training experience.

How do we collect and use information about you?

    1. Visitors to our website

      1. E-newsletter submission form

        We use a third-party provider, Campaign Monitor, to deliver our e-newsletters. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletters. For more information please see Campaign Monitor’s privacy notice.

        You have the choice to unsubscribe to any direct marketing that we send you. This feature is included in all e-marketing campaigns.

      2. E-learning platform

        We use a third-party provider, Moodle, to deliver the digital aspect of our training programmes. Participants are provided with a personal login to manage their own training. We use information from Moodle to monitor participant progress in their training. For more information please see Moodle’s privacy notice.

        When you sign up for the e-newsletter, use the e-learning platform and download a copyrighted Business Linked Teams material from the website, we will collect the following information about you:

        • Your name
        • Your email address
      3. Use of cookies

        Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site.         Third Party - These cookies are used to collect information about how visitors use our website and WordPress blog. We use the information to compile reports and to help us improve the website. The cookies collect information in an anonymous form, including the number of visitors to the website and blog, where visitors have come to the website from and the pages they visited.

      4. Google Analytics

        When someone visits www.businesslinkedteams.com we use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is processed in a way which does not identify anyone.

    2. People who use our services

      In order to provide our contracted services, we need to collect and store information about our training participants in addition to their name and address. We collect the following information:

      • Name
      • Job title
      • Email address
      • The company you work for
      • The country you work in
      • Any BLT event or program you may have attended

      We collect this information in the following ways:

      1. From our clients
      2. Event / programme feedback forms (paper format)
      3. Psychological profiling platform

        We use a third-party provider, Wiley Everything DiSC for our psychological profiling service.  Participants securely access the Wiley website and in addition to providing their name and email address, complete a personal preferences questionnaire.  Business Linked Teams aggregates information held in the Wiley DiSC portal for reporting purposes.  Reports are shared only with our client.  For more information please see Wiley’s privacy policy https://admin.wiley-epic.com/data_privacy.aspx

      This information is stored on our CRM system which is accessed securely through a browser. We also use this information for internal record-keeping and to improve our products and services.

    3. Prospective clients

      We may contact/engage with carefully identified prospective clients via social media or email in our B2B marketing activity, and collect and store their data on the legal basis of legitimate interest.  We will seek consent to add prospective clients to our e-newsletter.  We collect the following information:

      • Name
      • Email address
      • Job title
      • The company you work for
      • The country you work in

      This information is stored on our CRM system which is accessed securely through a browser.

      We will hold your information for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity and for as long as it helps us to provide the best service to our customers.

    4. Job applicants

      When individuals apply to work at Business Linked Teams, we will only use the information they supply to us to process their application. Where we want to disclose information to a third-party, for example where we want to take up a reference we will not do so without informing them beforehand, unless the disclosure is required by law.

      Once a person has taken up employment with Business Linked Teams, we will create an employment file. The information contained in this will be kept secure and will only be used for purposes directly relevant to that person’s employment. Once their employment with us has ended, we will retain the file in accordance with the requirements of our retention schedule and then delete it.

Third party service providers

We will not sell or share your information to third parties for marketing purposes.

We may pass your information to our third-party service providers, subcontractors and other associated parties for the purposes of completing tasks on our behalf. When we use third-party providers, we disclose only the information that is necessary to deliver the service and we ensure their compliance with current DPA (1998) (2018) and UK GDPR data protection law.  Where our third-party service providers are based in the U.S.  they adhere to data protection safeguards in line with current UK GDPR data protection law.

Where the relevant third-party partner uses your information to carry out their contractual obligations to us, they will in some cases be acting as the Data Controller of your information. We therefore advise you to read their Privacy Policy. These providers will share your information with us which we will use in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We will disclose your information if we are obliged or permitted by law to do so.

Your rights

At any time, you have the right to request and view your personal data held by BLT. Your rights also include:

  6. The right to data portability

Security precautions

Data security is of great importance to BLT and to protect your data we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure data we collect about you.

If password access is required for certain parts of the website, you are responsible for keeping this password secure and confidential.

We endeavour to protect your personal data. However, transmission of information over the internet is not entirely secure and is done at your own risk. We cannot ensure the security of your data transmitted to the website.

We will inform you if a breach occurs and that we consider your data exposure to be a risk to you and your rights.

Links to other websites

We may provide links to other websites from our own website. We have no control over such websites and are not responsible for the content of these websites. This Privacy Policy does not extend to your use of such websites. You are advised to read the privacy policy or statement of other websites prior to using them.

General

You may not transfer any of your rights under this Privacy Policy to any other person. We may transfer our rights under this Privacy Policy where we reasonably believe your rights will not be affected. We may transfer your personal information to a third party as part of a sale of some or all of our business and assets. We would take steps to ensure your privacy rights continue to be protected.

If any competent authority finds that any provision of this privacy policy is invalid, illegal or un-enforceable, that provision or part-provision will be deemed to be deleted and the validity of the other provisions of this Privacy Policy will not be affected.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

BLT reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy as we may deem necessary from time to time or as may be required by law. Any changes will be immediately posted on the website and you are deemed to have accepted the terms of the Privacy Policy on your first use of the website following the alterations.
